Club Exhibition Day

will be held on Saturday 16th November, 2013

  • It will be held at the Cadoxton Conservative Club, Vere Street, Cadoxton, Barry. (CF63 2HU)

  • The exhibition will be open from 11.00am until 5.00pm. Admission £3.00 adults (incl. OAPs), under 16s £2.00.

  • Two of the club's fixed layouts will be on show and fully working. This is the one chance in the year to see them all alive and working. There will be at least six other layouts from N-gauge to O-gauge, including a number of personal layouts of club members.

  • The event will be supported by local traders.

  • Refreshments will be available.

    The exhibition is held on the first and second floors of the Con. Club, which has no lift access - sorry.

    The following club and members layouts are scheduled to appear:

    The centrepiece in the concert room on the first floor will be:

  • the usual demonstration of live steam G-scale on the stage area courtesy of Howie.

    In addition:

  • Sip 'nd Switch- American HO-gauge. A small american shunting layout, built by former club member Keith, who died of cancer a couple of years ago. It was acquired by another member who has now donated it to the club as another memorial layout.

  • The Lavernock Light Railway - 7mm narrow gauge. This layout was built by the late Brian Scoulding, who named each of the locos after his grandchildren. It is now back in ownership of a club member, who has started to up-grade the scenery and add to the rolling stock.

  • Mincerville This working diorama from Tony W. represents a small mining settlement in the mid-West of USA in the early part of the 20th century. It is part of an ON30 modular project set up by the Slim Gauge Circle

  • The club's resident artist, Dave Woolnough, will also be present with his paints and paintings. He will be bringing Ferney Bank, one of his delightful small layouts.
